Editorial & review policy

Sources

Every guide is built from primary sources, not other blogs:

  • Tax content: IRS publications, forms and instructions (for example Publication 525 and Form 1099-MISC) and state revenue-department guidance.
  • Legal-status content: state statutes, attorney-general opinions and regulator notices.
  • Operator content: the operator’s own terms of service, sweepstakes rules and redemption policies, plus hands-on account testing where possible.

Where the text states a fact that could change — a threshold, a bonus, a state’s legal status — it links the source and dates it.

Review and updates

Each article is reviewed by a second person before publishing. Every page carries a “last reviewed” or “last checked” date. High-change pages (operator reviews, the state-legality guide) are re-checked at least every 60 days; tax pages are refreshed each tax year; definitional guides are reviewed annually.

How operators are rated

Operator grades reflect redemption reliability and speed, the real value of the coin packages, game selection, the account and ID-verification experience, customer support, and state availability. Grades are set editorially and are not for sale.

Affiliate independence

Some operator links earn a commission. Commercial relationships never influence a grade, ranking or recommendation, and they are disclosed. See About.
